Airing our dirty linen

And you wonder why the rest of the world thinks of us the way they do?

OK, I couldn't even finish it.

When, and where, did Obama ever say he thinks white people are trash? He is half white, for God's sake.

These people give the rest of the country a horrible name, just like you said. To think that for even one second, someone somewhere in the world thinks we are all like these bigoted hicks fills me with angst.

The flat out, unadulterated hate of people who use their religion as a shield is abhorrent.

Now, see, the real pain was all the way at the end.

That was Al Jazeera reporting.

Alright, I watched it to the end.

I have to admit that although I suppress it, I have the same fear as the last guy at the end. Some insanely bigoted jerk is going to do something drastic, in the name of his race, his god, his effed up bigotry, hatred and lack of intelligence.

Many are harmless and just talking to talk, but it only takes one extremist to turn the whole nation upside down.

I have been scared to admit that fear even to myself, but it's there.

My greatest joy at this point in life and my position in it would be for Obama to serve two terms, healthy and whole, and to make some real change - here and in the way we are perceived internationally. I'd give anything to have the power to "show" the bigots that they are a minority and powerless.

We can all dream, can't we?
